Event Weather & WeatherWatch Services
Weather for your event, not just the weather.
What if your event, club or community could have its own dedicated weather page — showing the information people actually need, in one simple place?
Event Weather is our range of hosted WeatherWatch services for events, sports clubs, communities and outdoor activities across Ireland and the UK.
Rather than simply embedding a generic weather forecast into a website, we combine weather information with the things that matter to your particular activity. That might mean an event countdown, hourly conditions, wind and gusts, rain risk, an interactive map, route information, daylight, tides or even your club’s upcoming events.
There are five ready-made WeatherWatch services, with bespoke options available if you need something more specific.
WeatherWatch – Weather Built Around What You’re Doing
Most weather websites tell you what the weather is expected to be.
We wanted to do something slightly different: tell you what the weather means for what you’re actually doing.
A sailing club may care about wind direction, gusts, tides and daylight. A running event may need weather information along a route. A community may simply want a useful local weather page. A sports club may want members to see the forecast for the next seven days. An event organiser may want a countdown that gradually becomes a detailed event forecast as the big day approaches.
WeatherWatch is designed around those requirements.
Five WeatherWatch Services
WeatherWatch Local – Community Weather
Give your community its own simple, dedicated local weather page.
WeatherWatch Local is designed for communities, villages, residents’ associations, Tidy Towns groups and local organisations that want to provide useful weather information for their area.
The page can bring together current conditions, forecasts, rain risk, wind, temperature and other useful information in a straightforward mobile-friendly format.
It can also be tailored around the things people actually do locally — walking, cycling, school runs, dog walks, matches, training and other outdoor activities.
Our Renmore, Galway example demonstrates this approach, with the weather presented specifically for the local area rather than as a generic national forecast.

WeatherWatch Club – 7-Day Club Weather
Give your members a dedicated weather page for your club and its outdoor activities.
WeatherWatch Club provides a simple seven-day weather outlook designed around the needs of sports and outdoor activity clubs.
It can be suitable for sailing clubs, golf clubs, GAA clubs, athletics clubs, cycling clubs, running clubs, equestrian organisations, rowing clubs, football clubs and many other outdoor organisations.
Members can quickly see the forecast, temperature, wind, gusts, rain risk and other relevant conditions without having to search around a general weather website.
It provides your club with a useful weather resource that can be linked from your existing website, shared with members or included in your regular communications.

WeatherWatch Club Season – Calendar-Driven
Your calendar tells it what you’re doing. WeatherWatch tells you what the weather is likely to do.
WeatherWatch Club Season takes the idea further by connecting your club’s Google Calendar with its weather page.
Instead of creating a new weather page for every training session, match or club event, WeatherWatch can identify upcoming activities and present the relevant weather information automatically.
This can be particularly useful for clubs with busy seasonal programmes, including:
- Training sessions
- Matches and fixtures
- Races and competitions
- Sailing sessions
- Golf events
- Club days
- Outdoor activities
- Other scheduled events
The result is a club weather page that becomes an ongoing information service rather than simply a static forecast.

WeatherWatch Event – Countdown & Weather
Build anticipation. Keep participants informed. Watch the forecast evolve.
WeatherWatch Event creates a dedicated weather page for your event, combining an event countdown with live and forecast weather information.
This can work particularly well for:
- Regattas
- Running and cycling events
- Charity events
- Outdoor festivals
- Sports competitions
- Community events
- School events
- Fundraisers
- Open days
- Outdoor activities
The countdown is useful long before a detailed forecast is available. As the event gets closer, the weather information becomes increasingly useful and participants can return to the same page to see how the forecast is changing.
Our Galway City Sailing Club Junior Regatta provides a working example of this approach.

WeatherWatch Course – Route Weather & Countdown
Follow the weather along your route.
Some events are about much more than a single location.
WeatherWatch Course is designed for route-based events where conditions may change as participants move from one point to another.
It can be used for sailing races, cycling events, running races, marathons, charity walks, rallies, triathlons, parades, processions and other route-based activities.
Depending on the project, a course page can combine:
- Event countdown
- Interactive maps
- Route information
- Hourly weather conditions
- Wind speed and direction
- Wind gusts
- Rain risk
- Temperature
- Daylight and sunlight information
- Tides where relevant
- Forecast model comparison
- Other event-specific information
Our Cong–Galway Sailing Race example demonstrates how a route-based WeatherWatch service can bring these different pieces of information together.

Additional WeatherWatch Features
The five standard services provide a starting point. Depending on your requirements, additional features can be included to make the service more useful for your particular organisation or event.
Interactive Maps
Show the event location, venue, course, route, checkpoints or other relevant locations on an interactive map.
Event Countdowns
Build anticipation with a live countdown to your event, race, regatta, course or other important date.
Daylight & Sun Information
For outdoor activities, knowing when the sun rises and sets can be just as useful as knowing the temperature. Daylight and sunlight information can be incorporated where appropriate.
Tide Information
For sailing, coastal and watersports applications, tide information can be included where relevant, alongside the weather forecast.
Forecast Model Comparison
WeatherWatch can use information from multiple forecast models and present model comparisons where appropriate. Showing agreement or differences between forecast models can provide useful context as a forecast develops.
WeatherWatch is a presentation and interpretation service rather than an official meteorological forecasting service. Official forecasts, warnings and local guidance should always take priority where safety is involved.
Multiple Locations
Need weather for several venues, checkpoints or locations? A bespoke WeatherWatch service can bring multiple locations together on one page.
Branding & Customisation
WeatherWatch pages can be adapted to suit your organisation or event, including logos, colours, titles, event information, links and other relevant content.
Supported By & Sponsorship
A WeatherWatch page can also provide opportunities for sponsor or partner recognition.
Depending on the project, this could include a Supported By message, sponsor logo, link to a sponsor’s website or other partner branding.
For clubs and community organisations, this may provide an additional way of helping to fund the service while giving sponsors useful visibility.
Calendar & Other Integrations
More advanced WeatherWatch services can potentially integrate with Google Calendar, existing websites, event information, maps, email or newsletter systems, other data sources and APIs.
Integration options depend on the requirements of the project.
How WeatherWatch Came About
WeatherWatch wasn’t conceived as a generic weather widget or an attempt to build another weather website.
It grew out of our practical experience of building websites, digital products and useful online tools for real organisations and real situations.
We kept asking a simple question:
Could weather information be made genuinely useful for what people are actually doing?
Instead of displaying a standard forecast and leaving people to work out what it meant, we started experimenting with combining weather information with event details, maps, routes, countdowns, daylight, tides and multiple forecast models.
The idea developed through real projects.
The Cong–Galway Sailing Race gave us the opportunity to explore weather along a route and combine it with an event countdown and sailing-specific information.
The Galway City Sailing Club Junior Regatta showed how a dedicated event page could combine anticipation, event information and an evolving weather forecast.
And Renmore, Galway gave us a way to look at weather from a community perspective — making the information relevant to everyday local activities rather than simply presenting another generic forecast.
Those projects helped shape WeatherWatch into the service it is today.
A Hosted Service, Not a One-Off Web Page
WeatherWatch is a hosted service.
That means you are not simply buying a static web page and being left to maintain it yourself.
We host and maintain the service so that it can continue to operate as weather data sources, APIs and supporting technology evolve.
Annual hosting and maintenance covers the ongoing operation of the service, including hosting infrastructure, appropriate weather data access, technical maintenance, monitoring, updates and changes required to keep the service working.
Where setup or configuration is required, this is included in the initial service price for the relevant product. Ongoing annual pricing then keeps the service running and maintained.
In other words, you are buying a working service, not a forgotten webpage.
Need Something Different?
Not every event, club or organisation fits neatly into one of the five standard WeatherWatch products.
That’s where our Custom WeatherWatch service comes in.

Weather for Your Event, Not Just the Weather
Weather can affect whether people turn up, what they wear, how an event runs, what equipment they bring and how organisers prepare.
We built WeatherWatch to make that information easier to understand and easier to share.
From a simple community weather page to a calendar-driven sports club, an event countdown or a detailed route weather service, the aim is the same:
Put useful weather information where people need it, presented around what they are actually doing.
